Great essay. I loved The Last Jedi, even with the few flaws I noticed, and I especially loved the finale and farewell to Luke. I thought you were spot on with your assessment. Although surprising at first, Luke's current character state is explained! Unlike characters who behave a certain way with no explanation, leaving the audience scratching their head, he was given a good reason for where he was physically, mentally, and emotionally.
